William D. Gates founded the company to make architectural terra cotta and also created an art pottery called “Teco” ware which was first made public in 1901.

Gates created many shapes but also hired company designers to make over 500 shapes.  Several writer’s agree that around early 1920’s ended Teco ware productions.  The last advertisement was 1923.
